20 MP each · 40 MP combined

Supported variants
Static images only. PNG: non-interlaced 8-bit RGB/RGBA; no EXIF/ICC or compressed text. JPG: 8-bit RGB/grayscale; no EXIF/ICC or CMYK. WebP: no animation, ICC, EXIF or XMP. Renaming an extension does not change its format.
TIFF: one uncompressed classic page, 8-bit grayscale/RGB/unassociated RGBA, top-left chunky pixels. Compressed, tiled, multipage, profiles, EXIF and unknown tags are rejected.
BMP: standard 40-byte DIB header, uncompressed 24-bit RGB, no palettes or profiles. Top-down and bottom-up row order supported.
Blur an image
A clear view of every change
Add an image to inspect your original, adjust settings and create a real download.
Drag a rectangle on the original, or use the pixel fields below. Each image keeps its own area. Choose Show comparison to inspect the effect.
Your result will appear here.
Previews are scaled to at most 1024 pixels. Download the full-resolution file to inspect fine detail.
Adjust settings to update the preview.

Only “Continue” saves a result in this browser for up to 30 minutes. Nothing is sent to our server.
About this tool
Blur an entire image or one selected rectangle per image, with a live comparison and full-resolution PNG download.
- Supported input
- PNG, JPG, WebP, TIFF, BMP
- Output format
- PNG
- Batch size
- Up to 5 files; format and combined limits below still apply.
How it works
- Add Supported PNG / JPG / WebP / TIFF / BMP files in Input. Review each thumbnail and its validation status.
- Choose Entire image or Selected rectangle for the active image. Drag an area or enter its original-pixel bounds, set strength and show the live comparison. Each image keeps its own area. Create PNG exports original dimensions.
- Create the selected files. Compare original and result, then download an individual file or ZIP. Changing settings marks older results out of date.
Supported files and limits
Up to 5 files, 10 MiB each and 25 MiB combined. Each image must fit within 8192 pixels per side and 20 million pixels; a batch is limited to 40 million input pixels. Output is limited to 20 MiB per file and 50 MiB combined. One isolated image job runs at a time, with a 30-second timeout and cancellation.
A practical example
To soften one distracting area, choose Selected rectangle, drag it on the original or enter Left, Top, Width and Height in original pixels, then choose Show comparison. At radius 6, each affected full-resolution pixel averages a 13 × 13 neighbourhood. Pixels outside the rectangle retain their pre-blur values. Each batch image keeps its own area; choose Entire image to soften everything.
Troubleshooting this tool
Use whole-pixel rectangle bounds that fit inside the active image. An invalid or zero-sized rectangle is rejected, even at strength 0. The preview is reduced to at most 768 pixels per side and rounds the rectangle outward; inspect the full-resolution PNG for exact edges. Colour controls and text watermark apply to the entire image, not just the selected rectangle.
Can I use blur to safely hide private information?
Do not rely on this visual effect for secure redaction. It does not select a background, remove objects or guarantee that obscured information cannot be inferred. Use a verified redaction workflow for sensitive content.
PNG input must be non-interlaced, 8-bit RGB or RGBA. Animated PNG, EXIF, ICC profiles and compressed/international text metadata are rejected before decoding.
JPG input supports 8-bit baseline/progressive RGB or grayscale. EXIF/ICC/multi-picture metadata and CMYK are currently rejected, so orientation and colour profiles are not silently discarded. Export an unprofiled copy from your image editor if needed.
WebP input must contain one static image. Animation, ICC profiles, EXIF, XMP and unsupported container chunks are rejected. Both lossy and lossless input bitstreams are decoded by the browser; this tool does not promise lossless WebP output.
TIFF input supports one uncompressed classic TIFF page, top-left orientation, chunky unsigned 8-bit grayscale, RGB or RGB with unassociated alpha. BigTIFF, compressed/tiled/multipage files, palettes, CMYK, profiles, EXIF and unknown tags are rejected. Resolution metadata is not retained.
BMP input requires uncompressed 24-bit RGB with a standard 40-byte DIB header, no palette/profile and exact padded row bytes. Both top-down and bottom-up rows are supported. Other BMP variants are rejected.
Check the actual export
Radius 0–24 original pixels; edge-clamped, alpha-aware box blur in sRGB. One rectangle per image. Selection affects blur only; colour and text controls affect the whole image. No background/face detection, brush masks, multiple regions or secure-redaction guarantee. Inspect downloaded dimensions, transparency and fine edges before replacing an original. Browser encoders differ; a quality setting is not a universal fidelity score, and file size may increase.
Files stay in your browser
No file bytes are uploaded. Ordinary work stays in memory. Choosing a “Continue” action saves that result in this browser for up to 30 minutes, so another compatible working tool can use the actual output. Saved workflows are limited to 50 MiB and 20 files; clear them in Output. Expired entries are removed on later tool visits. Clearing references is not a secure-erasure promise.
If a file fails
Check its actual format and the restrictions above. Renaming a file does not convert it. A failed file does not erase successful batch results. If processing times out, cancel and try fewer or smaller files. A current browser with worker canvas support is required.
Before you use the download
- Inspect the rectangle edges and the full-resolution PNG; outside pixels should remain sharp when other adjustments are neutral.
- Check each batch image’s own area. Blur is a visual effect, not secure redaction, face detection or background segmentation.
