Input 0 / 5
Drop files here, or
RGB/RGBA PNG · up to 5 files
10 MiB each · 25 MiB combined
20 MP each · 40 MP combined
8192 pixels per side
Supported variants
Static images only. PNG: non-interlaced 8-bit RGB/RGBA; no EXIF/ICC or compressed text. Renaming an extension does not change its format.
Re-encode PNG images
A clear view of every change
Add an image to inspect your original, adjust settings and create a real download.
Your result will appear here.
Previews are scaled to at most 1024 pixels. Download the full-resolution file to inspect fine detail.
Choose supported images to begin. No files are uploaded.

Ready when you are
Your exported files and their real details will appear here.
20 MiB per output · 50 MiB combined. Exports can be larger than the source.
Temporary workflow files
Only “Continue” saves a result in this browser for up to 30 minutes. Nothing is sent to our server.
About this tool
Re-encode supported PNG files at the same dimensions and compare the resulting bytes.
- Supported input
- PNG
- Output format
- PNG
- Batch size
- Up to 5 files; format and combined limits below still apply.
How it works
- Add RGB/RGBA PNG files in Input. Review each thumbnail and its validation status.
- Create new PNG files at the original dimensions, then compare their actual size and appearance.
- Create the selected files. Compare original and result, then download an individual file or ZIP. Changing settings marks older results out of date.
Supported files and limits
Up to 5 files, 10 MiB each and 25 MiB combined. Each image must fit within 8192 pixels per side and 20 million pixels; a batch is limited to 40 million input pixels. Output is limited to 20 MiB per file and 50 MiB combined. One isolated image job runs at a time, with a 30-second timeout and cancellation.
A practical example
Re-encode a supported PNG when you want to compare a fresh browser export with the existing file. Dimensions and supported alpha are retained.
Troubleshooting this tool
There is no lossy quality slider for PNG here. Re-encoding may increase size; use the actual byte comparison rather than assuming every PNG will shrink.
Why can the PNG become larger?
This tool re-encodes supported pixels using the browser PNG encoder. It is not a specialized lossless optimizer, and source compression can be more efficient. Use the measured byte comparison and keep the original if the new file is not useful.
PNG input must be non-interlaced, 8-bit RGB or RGBA. Animated PNG, EXIF, ICC profiles and compressed/international text metadata are rejected before decoding.
Check the actual export
There is no quality slider or target-size guarantee. This is a browser PNG re-encode, not a specialized lossless optimizer; files can grow. Inspect downloaded dimensions, transparency and fine edges before replacing an original. Browser encoders differ; a quality setting is not a universal fidelity score, and file size may increase.
Files stay in your browser
No file bytes are uploaded. Ordinary work stays in memory. Choosing a “Continue” action saves that result in this browser for up to 30 minutes, so another compatible working tool can use the actual output. Saved workflows are limited to 50 MiB and 20 files; clear them in Output. Expired entries are removed on later tool visits. Clearing references is not a secure-erasure promise.
If a file fails
Check its actual format and the restrictions above. Renaming a file does not convert it. A failed file does not erase successful batch results. If processing times out, cancel and try fewer or smaller files. A current browser with worker canvas support is required.
Before you use the download
- Check the output dimensions and supported transparency in an image viewer.
- Compare actual file size and fine detail with the original; changing containers does not recover previously lost information.
Tools that accept this output
These links use this tool's default output format, subject to each next tool's supported variants and limits. If you change the export format, use Continue in Output to see compatible actions for the actual result. Opening a link below starts another tool without transferring a file.
