About this tool
Extract main-body paragraphs and table text from a supported DOCX into a real UTF-8 text file.
- Supported input
- DOCX
- Output format
- TXT
- Batch size
- Up to 5 files; format and combined limits below still apply.
How it works
- Add Standard DOCX files in Input. Review each thumbnail and its validation status.
- Review the extraction summary, create the TXT file and open it to inspect the actual text.
- Create the selected files. Compare original and result, then download an individual file or ZIP. Changing settings marks older results out of date.
Supported files and limits
Up to five standard transitional DOCX files, 5 MiB each. The ZIP is limited to 100 entries, 16 MiB declared total expansion and 2 MiB of main document XML; expanded bytes and CRCs are independently checked. XML is limited to 50,000 elements/tokens and 100 nesting levels, with no DTD or custom entities. Output is capped at 250,000 characters and 1 MiB UTF-8 per input.
Tracked changes, macros, embedded objects, signatures and unsupported packages are rejected. This extracts main-body text runs and table cells only; headers, footers, notes, comments, images, layout and automatic list numbering are not reproduced. A 30-second cancellable worker deadline applies. No Word code is executed and no external relationships are followed. Previews are document summaries, not page renderings.
A practical example
Main-body paragraphs are extracted in document order. Table cells become tab-separated text and rows become separate lines. This is useful for reusing written content without importing the Word document's layout.
Troubleshooting this tool
Headers, footers, footnotes, comments, images and automatic list numbering are omitted. Tracked changes are rejected rather than guessing which revision you intended. Accept or reject revisions in Word and save a supported copy first.
Does the text output include Word page layout?
No. The tool extracts supported main-body text and table cells. It does not reproduce layout, images, headers, footnotes, comments or automatic list numbering.
Check the actual export
Plain main-body text extraction, without Word page layout or formatting. Table cells are separated by tabs. Headers, footers, notes, comments, images and automatic list numbering are omitted. No OCR or PDF conversion is performed. Inspect downloaded dimensions, transparency and fine edges before replacing an original. Browser encoders differ; a quality setting is not a universal fidelity score, and file size may increase.
Files stay in your browser
No file bytes are uploaded. Ordinary work stays in memory. Choosing a “Continue” action saves that result in this browser for up to 30 minutes, so another compatible working tool can use the actual output. Saved workflows are limited to 50 MiB and 20 files; clear them in Output. Expired entries are removed on later tool visits. Clearing references is not a secure-erasure promise.
If a file fails
Check its actual format and the restrictions above. Renaming a file does not convert it. A failed file does not erase successful batch results. If processing times out, cancel and try fewer or smaller files. A current browser with worker canvas support is required.
Before you use the download
- Read the TXT output and check paragraph order and tab-separated table cells.
- Confirm that omitted headers, notes, comments or automatic numbering are not needed for your intended use.
